As of December 31, 2020, Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) is not supported in the LiveChat agent app.
If you wish to continue using a Microsoft browser, we recommend Microsoft Edge because it’s fully supported. For an even better experience, we recommend using our desktop client for Windows. It has all the features of the web application plus a few additional features like auto-away and customizable notification sounds.
How does this affect me?
As of February 2, 2021, it’s no longer possible to access the LiveChat agent app in Internet Explorer 11 and older versions. This applies to our Chat Widget as well, as customers are no longer able to interact with it.
Why is LiveChat removing support for IE11?
IE11 hasn’t been actively developed by Microsoft since 2015. The web has moved on. A lot of new technology, functionality, and security patches have been introduced in modern browsers. We want to utilize these improvements to better the performance of the app and the experience of LiveChat users.
Please update your systems to ensure your team is using LiveChat in a way that we actively support. There’s also a new desktop app for Windows that we recommend to users of all browsers.
