How do I download LiveChat for Windows?
If your team uses LiveChat, log in to LiveChat to download its Windows desktop app. The download buttons on this page install Text, a separate product from the same company. For a Text account, choose the 64-bit or 32-bit installer above, install the app, and sign in.
Is there a live chat app for Windows PC?
Yes. Text has a Windows desktop app for businesses that talk to customers through live chat and tickets. It gives your team a dedicated inbox on their PC, with automatic startup, background updates, and native Windows notifications. It is a customer service app, rather than a consumer messaging app.
How does live chat work on my PC?
Your customers send messages through the chat widget on your website or a channel connected to Text. You read and reply to those conversations in the Windows app. Download the app, sign in to your Text workspace, and open your inbox. To get started on your website, set up the widget in your Text workspace and add it to your site. Your visitors do not need to install the Windows app.
Should I download Text for Windows 64-bit or 32-bit?
Choose the installer that matches your Windows system type. Go to Settings > System > About and look under Device specifications for System type. Select the 64-bit download for an x64-based PC running 64-bit Windows, or the 32-bit download for 32-bit Windows. These are the two installers published on the Text app page. If your device uses an ARM-based processor, ask Text support to confirm the right installation option.
Can I sign in to the Text Windows app with my LiveChat account?
The Text app requires a Text account. A LiveChat login belongs to your separate LiveChat workspace and plan. You can log in to LiveChat to get the Windows app for that account. Installing Text does not move your team’s subscription or conversations. See the LiveChat-to-Text guide if you want to switch.
Is the live chat app for Windows free?
The Text Windows installer is free to download. Using the app requires a Text account with an active trial or paid plan. You can start a 14-day trial without a credit card, then choose a plan for your team. Downloading the app does not create a permanent free plan. See Text pricing for current plans.
Can I use Text on a PC without downloading the desktop app?
Yes. Sign in to the Text web app in your browser. The Windows download is useful when you want a separate desktop window for conversations, automatic startup, and native system notifications. You can use your Text workspace from either app.
Will Text notify me when I’m working in another Windows app?
Yes. The desktop app supports customizable native Windows alerts for new chats and messages while Text is not in focus. Enable notifications for Text in Windows settings, then check your notification preferences in Text. Windows notification settings can affect which alerts appear. The notification guide explains how to adjust them.
Are the features on this page included in my LiveChat plan?
No, your LiveChat plan stays the same. The features and capabilities on this page are part of Text and are available under Text pricing plans. They are not included in LiveChat plans, including legacy LiveChat subscriptions. Availability, limits, and pricing depend on your Text plan. If you’re on a LiveChat plan and want these features, you can move to Text.
